The Behavioral Health Council is committed to protecting the safety, rights, and well-being of individuals receiving behavioral health services. We want clients to feel informed, respected, and supported throughout their therapy experience.
About Your Therapy Practice

Licensed behavioral health professionals are required to follow professional, ethical, and legal standards.

Therapy should be provided in a safe, respectful, and confidential environment.

You have the right to be treated with dignity, to ask questions about your treatment, and to participate in decisions about your care.

Your therapist should clearly explain their role, treatment approach, fees, confidentiality, and limits to confidentiality.
Your Rights as a Client
You have the right to:

Receive services that are ethical and appropriate

Request the consumer’s health care records from the Pure Hope Counseling office. Please speak to office staff for a copy
Reporting Concerns or Complaints
If you have concerns about your therapy experience, you are encouraged to take action:

You may first consider discussing the concern directly with your therapist, if you feel comfortable doing so.

If the issue is not resolved or involves ethical or professional misconduct, you may file a complaint with the Behavioral Health Council.
